Australian Gold Rush 2008
We had perfect weather and great company. The weekend was filled with the bustling activities of camp life
on the gold fields of yesteryear. Below are thumbnails of photos taken over the weekend.

Garry Mappin from the Blue and Grey, not only came as a mortician but also ran the Bathhouse which was very impressive.
Garry made the shower self draining into the river and also had hot water on the boil for those who wanted to use the Bathhouse.
This is a luxury at any encampment as any re-enactor will know.

Here are a selection of photos taken around the campsite. There were some special moments which the camera can barely capture.

Police Commissioner Brooks and the 40th Regiment of Foot putting a stop to a rebellion.
With a gentle prod using fate cards, the inhabitants of the Holey Plains Gold field quickly started to form alliances,
began plotting, used bribes and showed creative initiative that even surprised us!
There was also a murder mystery involving a digger named Lazarus Hobbs.

The crime scene

The following day the Commissioner was accused of some scandalous crime and was arrested whilst a diggers mob decided to have a minor rebellion... unfortunately Commissioner Brooks attempted to make a run for it and was shot down by the soldiers.
